Orange Blossom King’s Brioche

Here is a delicious recipe from my Friend Karen (@yanoubidou). As always it is a simple and delicious recipe. I was afraid it would overflow in my mold so I only did half of the recipe ; it was delicious! Of course, you will find Karen’s recipe right HERE!

Orange Blossom King’s Brioche

This King's Brioche is flavored with Orange Blossom Water, one of my favorite. It is soft like a donut and don't forget to hide the trinket!

Ingredients
 

  • 2 1/2 oz (70 g) milk (Lukewarm)
  • 1 1/8 tsp (3.5 g) instant yeast (1/2 packet of 7g)
  • 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/16 tsp (0.38 g) sea salt
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 orange zest (Large Orange)
  • 3 Tbsp (40 g) butter (Softened | At Room Temperature)
  • 1 Tbsp (15 g) Orange Blossom Water

Instructions
 

BRIOCHE PREPARATION

  • Add the milk into a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds or until it is lukewarm.
  • In the bowl of your stand mixer, add all your dry ingredients in this order: Instant yeast, all purpose flour, sea salt and sugar. Whisk together to sift for about 30 seconds.
  • Make a well, add the eggs, orange zest and the lukewarm milk. knead with the dough hook for about 3 minutes on the lowest setting of your stand mixer. Once the ingredients are almost combined, add the softened butter and increase the speed to the second lowest setting: knead for 10 minutes. The dough will be sticky.

RISE & ASSEMBLY

  • Transfer the dough into a clean bowl, cover with a plastic wrap and let it rise for about 2 hours at room temperature or 1 1/2 hours in a turned off preheated oven (100F/37C). It will double in size.

  • Once the dough has doubled, scrape it out directly into your Twisted Crown Flexipan® Mold and add the trinkets. Let it rise for another 1 hour at room temperature or 45 minutes in a turned off preheated oven (100F/37C).

BAKE!

  • Preheat oven to 350F/180C.
  • Bake for 30 minutes at 350F/180C. (Every oven heats differently, monitor your Brioche from 25min). It is ready when golden brown and does not feel hallow to the touch.

  • Once your Orange Blossom King's Brioche is out of the oven, let it cool down directly in the mold 10 minutes before demolding onto your cooling rack. Enjoy & Bon Appétit!
