Cuisine Halloween Food
Servings 5

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry sheet (1 Roll | 13.2 oz | 375 g)
  • 4 oz (115 g) strawberry jam (I used Bonne Maman)
  • Sanding sugar (Purple and Clear)
  • googly eyes (For decorating)

Instructions

  • NOTE: I sliced my puff pastry into 8 rectangles to make 5 bases and turning the remaining 3 rectangles into smaller strips for the mummies. You can, of course, make them into bigger pieces or into smaller pieces.
  • Place your medium Bonmat on the top of your medium perforated baking sheet. Set Aside.
  • Preheat oven to 400F/200C.

MUMMIES PREPARATION

  • Unroll your puff pastry into a large rectangle. Slice it into 8 rectangles. Set 5 rectangles directly onto your medium Bonmat. Then, cut small strips with the remaining 3 rectangles, about 1/2 inch | 1 cm width.

  • Coat each strip of pastry into the sanding sugar mix (here purple and clear). Then arrange them on each rectangle to create the mummy bandages (about 4 to 6 strips leaving a gap to where you will place the google eyes once they are baked and cooled down. Using a fork seal the pastry all around.

BAKE!

  • Bake for 15 minutes at 400F/200C. (Every oven heats differently, monitor your pastry from 12 minutes). It is ready when the pastry has puffed and is golden.

  • Once your Mummy Berry Hand Pies are out of the oven, let them cool down completely on the baking sheet. Once they have cooled down, arrange the goggles eyes and serve at room temperature. "BONE" Appétit & Happy HALLOWEEN!
