Harry Potter | Broomstick Puffs
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 puff pastry sheet (1 Roll | 13.2 oz | 375 g)
- 4 oz (115 g) Nutella Spread (I used Bonne Maman)
- 10 twisted bread sticks
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 Tbsp (8 g) powdered sugar (dusting)
Instructions
- NOTE: I sliced my puff pastry into 10 small rectangles, you can of course make them into bigger pieces (8) for example ; or into smaller pieces (12).
- Place your Large Bonmat on the top of your Large Perforated Baking Sheet. Set Aside.
- Preheat oven to 400F/200C.
BROOM STICKS PREPARATION
- Unroll your puff pastry into a large rectangle. Spread the Nutella on the bottom half and fold the pastry in two. Slice it into 5 rectangles and slice each rectangle in half. Then, cut small strips leaving a 1/2 inch | 1 cm margin.4 oz Nutella Spread, 1 puff pastry sheet
- Place a twisted bread stick by the margin and roll the puff pastry around creating the small movements of the broom. Arrange them on your Large Bonmat. Brush with a little egg wash .NOTE: I like to wrap the breadsticks in foil so they do not burn while being baked.10 twisted bread sticks, 1 egg
BAKE!
- Bake for 15 minutes at 400F/200C. (Every oven heats differently, monitor your pastry from 12 minutes). It is ready when the pastry has puffed and golden.
- Once your Harry Potter | Broomstick Puffs are out of the oven, let them cool down completely on the baking sheet. Once they have cooled down, dust with powdered sugar and serve at room temperature. Enjoy Wizards ; Magic always happens in the kitchen!1 Tbsp powdered sugar
