French Vanilla Waffles (Thermomix or not)

When I first got my Thermomix TM6 through my fantastic consultant Lucienne (@cook_in_the_loop), I was very excited to try new recipes and take advantage of this amazing kitchen tool.

Lucienne adores her bon COOK™ products and convinced me to do a class together, presenting the best from both worlds!

French Vanilla Waffles (Thermomix or not)

These French Vanilla Waffles are so delicious, one of the best I ever had! Of course, you can make them with your Thermomix or hand mixer.

Ingredients
 

  • 12 2/3 oz (360 g) milk (12.70 oz)
  • 5 Tbsp (70 g) butter (2.47 oz)
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour (8.82 oz)
  • 1 Tbsp (12 g) baking powder (0.42 oz)
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp (30 g) sugar (1.06 oz)
  • 1/16 tsp (0.38 g) sea salt (0.01 oz)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp (5 g) vanilla bean paste (1.18 oz)

Instructions
 

TRADITIONAL PREPARATION

  • Meanwhile, in a medium sauce pan, heat the milk and butter together, by stirring occasionally. Your preparation is ready once the butter has melted and the milk is hot (not boiling). Set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients (all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar and sea salt). Make a well and add the eggs, vanilla bean paste and your cooled milk/butter preparation. Beat on a medium high speed for 1 minute or until it is all incorporated and fluffy.

THERMOMIX PREPARATION

  • In the bowl of your Thermomix, place the following ingredients in this order: all-purpose flour (8.82 oz | 250 g), baking powder (0.42 oz | 12 g), sugar (1.06 oz | 30 g), sea salt (0.01 oz | 0.38 g), 2 eggs, vanilla bean paste (1.18 oz | 5 g), milk (12.70 oz | 360 g) and cold butter in pieces (2.47 oz | 70 g). Blend 30 sec/speed 9. NOTE: Depending on how cold your butter is you might need to mix a couple of seconds more.

REST

  • Cover your batter with a plastic wrap and leave it at room temperature for 1 hour.

BAKE!

  • Preheat oven to 425F/220C.Place your Waffle Flexipat® Tray on the top of your Medium Perforated Baking Sheet.
  • Scoop the batter into the Flexipat® (About 1 1/2 scoops per well). Flatten with your offset spatula.

  • Bake for 15 minutes at 425F/220C. (Every oven heats differently, monitor your waffles from 12min).

  • Once your French Vanilla Waffles are out of the oven, let them cool down for about 1min. Then, flip and serve. Enjoy with some powdered sugar on top or with fresh fruits. Bon Appétit!
