Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 (30 g) egg white
- 1/2 Tbsp (7.5 g) Spring Water (Cold)
- 6.35 oz (180 g) powdered sugar (Original Recipe Calls for 4.23 oz | 120 g)
- Food Colorant (Black)
Instructions
- Place your parchment paper on the top of your Large Perforated Baking Sheet. Set Aside. NOTE: This will ensure your eyes come off when they completely dry.
GOOGLEY EYE PREPARATION
- In a mixing bowl, add the egg white, spring water and powdered sugar. Beat on high speed for about 3 to 5 minutes.1 egg white, 1/2 Tbsp Spring Water, 6.35 oz powdered sugar
- Set about 2 heaping spoons of the royal icing in a small bowl. Add the black food coloring and mix until desired color. NOTE: If you are using powdered food coloring you may need to add a few drops of cold water at a time until desired consistency. Set aside the black and white icing into their respective pipping bags.Food Colorant
ASSEMBLY
- With the white icing, just make small, medium or large dots depending on what you need on top of the parchment paper.
- By the time you use all of your white, the first ones will be dry enough for you to start to put on your "pupil". Just put the tiniest black dot onto each 'eyeball'. Place some in the center. NOTE: For the 3D pupils, you will need to add one more dot of black on a second round.
DRY
- Depending on the size of your eyes, let them dry for 24 to 48 hours before using. They are ready when they slide of the parchment paper and are not glossy anymore.
- Theses are best stored in a air tight container to use all season long! Enjoy! "BONE" Appétit & Happy Halloween!
