Trader Joe’s Blood Orange Loaf

Trader Joe’s Blood Orange Loaf

Trader Joe's Blood Orange Cake Mix is made for the citrusy, blood orange lovers! Follow my simple additions, it's delicious!

Ingredients
 

BLOOD ORANGE CAKE

  • 1 cake mix (Trader Joe's Blood Orange)
  • 8 Tbsp (115 g) butter (Melted )
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup (178 g) water
  • 1 blood orange (Zest only | Sliced)

BLOOD ORANGE ICING

  • 1 pouch Icing Mix (Trader Joe's)
  • 2 Tbsp (28 g) butter (Melted)
  • 1 Tbsp (15 g) blood orange juice (From 1/4 Blood Orange)

Instructions
 

BLOOD ORANGE CAKE PREPARATION

  • Place butter in a small sauce pan and heat on low until melted. Set aside.
  • In your Mixing Bowlwhisk the blood orange cake mix to remove any lumps. Make a well, add the eggs, water and cooled melted butter. Mix until combined. IMPORTANT: Do not overmix! Fold the zest from your blood orange.

  • Arrange the slices from your orange (I got 5 slices out of mine) at the bottom of your Loaf Flexipan® Mold , and pour the batter on top.

BAKE

  • Bake for 50 minutes at 350F/180C. (Every oven heats differently, monitor your cake from 45min). It is ready when the toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  • Once your Trader Joe's Blood Orange Loaf is out of the oven, let it cool down for about 10 minutes.

  • Then, Unmold onto your cooling rack, set aside while preparing the icing.

BLOOD ORANGE ICING PREPARATION

  • Place butter and blood orange juice in a small sauce pan and heat on low until melted. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl mix together the icing mix with the melted butter/blood orange mixture. Whisk until smooth and drizzle over your cooled cake. Enjoy and Bon Appétit!

  2. Tout d’abord j’avais pensé à un pain d’épices si ce n’est le titre qui m’a dit le contraire, il est superbe et très gourmand ton gâteau, bisous
