Chocolate Vanilla Swirl Butter Cookies (Halloween)

Ingredients
 

BUTTER COOKIE DOUGH

  • 6.70 oz (190 g) butter (Softened | At Room Temperature)
  • 2.50 oz (70 g) powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5 g) sea salt
  • 1 (30 g) egg white
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5 g) vanilla bean paste
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25 g) Food Colorant (Orange)
  • 7.95 oz (225 g) all-purpose flour

BLACK CHOCOLATE

  • 0.55 oz (15 g) black cocoa powder
  • 0.55 oz (15 g) butter (Softened | At Room Temperature)
  • 0.55 oz (15 g) powdered sugar

Instructions
 

VANILLA COOKIE DOUGH

  • In the bowl of your stand mixer, with the paddle attachment on, cream the softened butter together with the powdered sugar and sea salt for 2 minutes on medium low speed.
    6.70 oz butter, 2.50 oz powdered sugar, 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • Mix in the egg white, vanilla bean paste and the orange food colorant for about 1 minute. Scrap the bowl down when necessary.

  • Sprinkle the all-purpose flour, and continue to mix for another minute or until it is just combined. Set aside half of your batter in a Pastry bag.
    7.95 oz all-purpose flour
    • Save
  • Using your spatula, fold the black cocoa powder together with the butter and powdered sugar. Transfer it to another pastry bag.
    0.55 oz black cocoa powder
    • Save
  • Place your round tip on and use a third bag to keep both doughs together. NOTE: Massage it for a minute in order to get the dough warmer: IT will be easier to pipe.
    0.55 oz butter, 0.55 oz powdered sugar
    • Save
  • Pipe your butter cookies into an "O" shape directly onto your Bonmat well apart.

BAKE!

  • Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Bake for 8 minutes (Every oven heats differently, monitor your butter cookies from 7 minutes). It is ready when lightly brown around the edge, the top staying white.

  • Once your Chocolate Vanilla Swirl Butter Cookies are out of the oven, let them cool down completely on your baking sheet. "BONE" Appétit!
  • N.B. Storage is best when placed in a metal box.

  1. Magnifiques cookies! J’adore la forme tout comme la couleur. ça n’a pas l’air trop difficile. Je vais peut-être essayer cette recette. Je vais les courses et tenter le coup.

    • Coucou! Ce sont des sablés et ils sont très faciles à faire. Je te conseille de bien les masser avant cela va les réchauffer un peu car il te faudra de l’huile de coude pour les pocher. Tu me diras ce que tu en penses. Patisses bien! Bises, ~Nessa

  2. Ils sont beaux 🙂 De loin, je croyais que c’était de la citrouille que tu avais mis dans une partie de ta pâte. Les americains font autant de recettes d’halloween que toi ? Gros bisous

    • Ah oui tu as l’oeil pour la citrouille, mais non ce n’est pas assez secs pour les sablés. Mais ne t’inquiète pas, j’ai encore pleins d’idée de recette avec de la purée de potiron. Alors oui pour répondre à ta question: Aux US, on commence à fêter Halloween dès la mi-Aout (j’étais limite un peu en retard) ahah! Grosses Bises Martine, ~Nessa
