Grind oats, almonds and Demerara sugar in a blender or food processor, about 10 seconds. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients (Oats/almonds mixture, whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and Demerara sugar). Make a well and add all your wet ingredients (Buttermilk, orange juice (1/4 cup), orange zest, Canola oil, egg and Vanilla extract). Mix all to combine. Then, fold your blueberries.
Grind almonds and Demerara sugar in a blender or food processor, about 10 seconds. And sprinkle it over the muffins.
BAKE!
Bake for 20 minutes at 400F/200C. (Every oven heats differently, monitor your Muffins from 18min). It is ready when the toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Once your Old-Fashioned Blueberry Orange Muffins are out of the oven, let them cool down for about 10min. Then, Unmold, serve and enjoy! Bon appétit!
