Nutella April Fools’ Pie
Happy April Fool’s Day!
Or As The French would say: “Poisson d’Avril” (April Fish).
Now why do we call it this way? I honestly cannot really remember but it basically means “I’ve played a trick on you”. When I was growing up, it was a tradition to stick a fish drawing on someone’s back so they would walk with it all day without knowing. A day filled with practical jokes and mischief đ
There is also the Theory of when Charles IX switched France from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, which meant the new year started several months before it would have under the old calendar. As a result, people thought it would be funny to celebrate the New Year twice and exchange gifts.
But why the Fish? Some theories say that April was a bad month for fishing, and it was impossible to serve Fish back then. But who knows what’s the real reason in all this.
A few days ago, Ive seen the photo posted on Angelique‘s Instagram, right HERE (@la_gourmandise_selon_angie), It was way too cute not to make!
When I prepared my fish I was more aiming for Nemo, but I think it turned out to be more of a Piranha, April Fool’s to me!
Enjoy & Joyeux Poisson d’Avril!
As always, you will find the Step-by-Step Video below the recipe.
