Twix Chocolate Cake | Leftover Halloween Candy

Ingredients
 

  • 8 Twix | mini (4 oz | 115 g | Quartered)
  • 12 Twix | fun size (4 oz | 115 g | Halved)

CHOCOLATE CAKE

  • 6.70 oz (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 Tbsp (6 g) baking powder
  • 4.23 oz (120 g) granulated sugar
  • 2.29 oz (65 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 tsp (0.75 g) sea salt
  • 3 eggs (Large)
  • 9.35 oz (265 g) sour cream
  • 5.82 oz (165 g) vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp (4 g) vanilla bean paste

CHOCOLATE GANACHE / CARAMEL

  • 2 oz (80 g) heavy cream
  • 2 oz (115 g) dark chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp caramel sauce
  • 1 tsp salt flakes

Instructions
 

CHOCOLATE CAKE PREPARATION

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (All-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and sea salt).
    8 Twix | mini, 6.70 oz all-purpose flour, 1/2 Tbsp baking powder, 4.23 oz granulated sugar, 2.29 oz unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/8 tsp sea salt
  • Make a well, add the eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil and vanilla bean paste. Mix until combined.
    3 eggs, 9.35 oz sour cream, 5.82 oz vegetable oil, 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • Fold the quartered Mini Twix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Use a spatula to spread evenly. Add the halved Twix (fun size) on top, pressing down lightly.
    Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350℉/180℃.

BAKE!

  • Take the cake out of the refrigerator.
    Bake for 18 minutes at 350℉/180℃. (Every oven heats differently, monitor your Cake from 15 minutes). It is ready when the toothpick inserted comes out almost clean or with little to no crumbs.
    Once your Twix Chocolate Cake is out of the oven, let it cool down completely on your cooling rack.

CHOCOLATE GANACHE PREPARATION

  • Pour the heavy cream into a microwave safe bowl and bring it just to a boil in microwave, for about 45 seconds. Add the dark chocolate chips and swirl to coat all chips. Allow to sit for 2 minutes, then stir. Transfer to a pipping bag and snip off the tip. Set aside.
    2 oz heavy cream, 2 oz dark chocolate chips

ASSEMBLY

  • Once your Twix Chocolate Cake has completely cooled down, add drizzles of chocolate ganache, caramel and a sprinkle of salt flakes. Enjoy! "BONE" Appétit & Happy Halloween!
    NOTE: This cake is best enjoyed the day of. However, you can store them at room temperature up to 3 days.
