Surf & Turf Savory Cakes (Five Ways)

The base of this savory cake is incredible. Now you can mix and match as you wish. Here are my 5 ways with Surf & Turf!

Ingredients
 

SAVORY CAKE BASE

  • 1 3/4 cups (220 g) flour (Sifted)
  • 1 tbsp (12 g) baking powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup (125 g) milk
  • 1/3 cup (75 g) olive oil
  • 1 cup (110 g) shredded cheese
  • Lavender Salt
  • Pepper Mil

CAKE 1

  • 3 slices smoked salmon (Chopped)
  • 3 tbsp (45 g) boursin cheese

CAKE 2

  • 3 slices bacon (Cooked)
  • 1/4 cup (40 g) onion (Caramelized)

CAKE 3

  • 1/4 cup (35 g) grilled chicken (Diced)
  • 3 tbsp (60 g) Greek Honey
  • 1/4 tsp (0.5 g) ground cinnamon

CAKE 4

  • 1 tin tuna in water (Drained)
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) sun dried tomatoes (Chopped)
  • 1 tsp (5 g) Greek feta herbs (Chopped)

CAKE 5

  • 1/4 cup (35 g) grilled chicken (Diced)
  • 1 cup (100 g) Mushrooms (Cooked reduced to 1/4 cup)
  • 1/4 cup (35 g) black olives (Chopped)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350F/180C.

SAVORY CAKE BASE

CAKE 1

  • Mix in the Smoked Salmon and Boursin Cheese. Keep some to decorate on top.

CAKE 2

  • Mix in the Bacon and Carammelized Onions. Keep some to decorate on top.

CAKE 3

  • Mix in the Grilled Chicken, Honey and Ground Cinnamon. Keep some to decorate on top.

CAKE 4

  • Mix in the Tuna, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Greek Feta Herbs. Keep some to decorate on top.

CAKE 5

  • Mix in the Grilled Chicken, Cooked Mushrooms and Black Olives. Keep some to decorate on top.
  • Bake for 20 minutes at 350F/180C. (Every oven heats differently, monitor your cake from 18min).
  • Once your Surf & Turf Savory Cakes are out of the oven, let them cool down for about 10min. Then, Unmold directly onto your cooling rack. Serve and Enjoy! Bon Appétit!
