Indulge in the ultimate holiday treat! This Saltine Cracker Toffee, affectionately known as "Christmas Crack", is the sweet tradition that will have everyone coming back for more. Crisp, buttery, and drizzled in chocolate, it's the perfect festive delight to share with loved ones and they do not take long to make!

Ingredients
 

  • 40 saltine crackers (1 sleeve 4 oz | 115 g)
  • 8 oz (227 g) butter
  • 7.06 oz (200 g) light brown sugar
  • 12 oz (340 g) dark chocolate chunks (I used Ghirardelli)
  • 4 oz (115 g) Sprinkles (Foliay | Jingle Bell Rock Mix)

Instructions
 

CHRISTMAS CRACK PREPARATION

  • Place the crackers in a single layer on your Fleximat or the baking sheet you have prepared.
  • In a medium saucepan, place the butter and brown sugar, gently bring to a boil. Then, boil for 3 minutes.
  • Pour the butter/brown sugar mixture over the crackers and spread with a spatula to coat.
  • BAKE - Place your tray in the oven and bake for 3-5 minutes, or until bubbling at 400F/200C.
    Carefully remove the tray from the oven and immediately scatter the chocolate chunks over the top.
  • BAKE - Return the tray back in the oven for another 2-3 minutes to melt the chocolate at 400F/200C.
    Carefully remove the tray from the oven and immediately spread the chocolate evenly with a spatula to coat.
  • Add the sprinkles on top of the chocolate. Let the toffee sit until completely cool, either at room temperature or you can refrigerate. Cut into pieces and serve. NOTE: This toffee is best enjoyed when stored in a metal tin box until 3 days. Enjoy & Happy Holidays!
