Chocolate and Almond Macaron Cookies (Schatzy) Bredele 2022

These Chocolate and Almond Cookies are incredible and similar to a meringue. The word "Schatzy" in Alsatian means "My Sweetheart", enjoy!

Ingredients
 

  • 1 1/3 cups (125 g) sliced almonds
  • 2/3 cup (125 g) dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp (1 g) ground cinnamon
  • 2 (60 g) egg whites
  • 2/3 cup (130 g) sugar
  • 2 Tbsp (10 g) unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions
 

ALMOND AND CHOCOLATE MACARON COOKIES

  • In a mixing bowl, mix the sliced almonds, dark chocolate chips and ground cinnamon together. Set aside.
  • In another mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks. Halfway, add the sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder while continuing beating. Then, using a spatula carefully fold it into your almond preparation.
  • Scoop the batter onto your bonMAT™ well apart.

BAKE!

  • Preheat oven to 300F/150C. Bake for 30 minutes (Every oven heats differently, monitor your cookies from 25min). It is ready when the meringue is formed.
  • Once your hocolate and Almond Macaron Cookies are out of the oven,  let them cool down completely on your baking sheet. When ready, slide them onto a serving plate. Enjoy & Bon Appétit!
  • N.B. Storage is best when placed in a metal box.
