Indulge your taste buds with these guilt-free Blood Orange French Almond Cakes! With just 5 egg whites, they're a heavenly and heart-healthy treat. Say hello to pure citrus bliss!
Place butter in a small sauce pan and heat on low until melted. Set aside.
5.29 oz butter
In a mixing bowl, mix in the powdered sugar, almond flour and all-purpose flour. Make a well, add the egg whites, blood orange zest/juice and the cooled melted butter. Mix until combined.
6.53 oz powdered sugar, 3.53 oz almond flour, 2.29 oz all-purpose flour, 5 egg whites, 1 blood orange zest, 2.12 oz Blood Orange juice
Bake for 20 minutes at 350F/180C. (Every oven heats differently, monitor your Cakes from 18 minutes). It is ready when the toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Once your Blood Orange French Almond Cakes are out of the oven, let it cool down completely in the mold. Then flip it over onto a cooling rack.
ORANGE GLAZE PREPARATION
Once your cakes have cooled down, prepare the blood orange glaze.
