Baked Endives Hot Dog Style

Indulge in a unique twist on comfort food with these baked endives dog style hot dog style recipe! They perfectly mimic the flavors of a classic hot dog, while adding a healthy twist!

Ingredients
 

  • 2 Belgium endives
  • 1 Tbsp (14 g) olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5 g) Dijon Mustard
  • 2 Tbsp (30 g) heavy cream
  • 2 Hot dogs sausage links
  • 4 Prosciutto slices (Original Recipe uses Canadian Bacon)
  • 2 oz (57 g) Gruyère Cheese (Shredded)

Instructions
 

  • Place your Medium Round Mold on a microwave safe plate. Set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 400F/200C. 

ENDIVE PREPARATION

  • Wash and clean the endives. Slice them in half lengthwise and place them face down in your Medium Round Mold. Drizzle the olive oil and cover with the octagonal Bonmat. Cook in the microwave for 4 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the Bonmat and turn your endives over. Drizzle half of the mustard/cream mixture on top.
  • Roll each hot dog with two prosciutto slices (one on each end) and place it between 2 endives (like you would with a bun). Drizzle the remaining half of the mustard/cream mixture. And add the shredded cheese on top. NOTE: No salt was added to the recipe as the hot dogs are naturally salty.

BAKE!

  • Bake for 15 minutes at 400F/200C. It is ready when the cheese as melted and the hot dog is cooked. NOTE: All sausages are not of the same size: Use the Digital Thermometer to ensure it is cooked through at 165F/75C.
  • One your Baked Endives Hot Dog Style are out of the oven, let it sit for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy & Bon Appétit!
